PATTAYA — A Chinese national arrested at Suvarnabhumi Airport has confessed to killing a Thai transgender woman in Pattaya after a dispute over a financial transaction, according to police reports on 26 April 2025.
Fu Tongyung, 42, admitted to killing 25-year-old Woranan Pannacha, a native of Nong Khai province. Authorities stated that Fu met Woranan near South Pattaya Beach on Friday evening. The two exchanged contacts via the WeChat application, with Fu reportedly unaware that Woranan was a transgender woman at the time.
Later that night, Woranan contacted Fu, and the two agreed to meet at his rented room where they negotiated a fee of 8,000 baht for sexual services. However, according to Fu’s statement, when Woranan later refused to proceed, he demanded a 50 percent refund. A physical altercation followed after the refund was denied.
Fu told investigators that Woranan scratched his face and kicked him off the bed, leading to a violent response where he overpowered and strangled her. He then dragged the body to the bathroom and, using a pair of scissors purchased earlier, mutilated it by removing the silicone breast implants and later opening the torso from the neck to the genitals. Fu claimed his actions were driven by a compulsion to “play” with the body, reportedly influenced by his mental state, though he admitted he had never been diagnosed with any mental illness.
Following the killing, Fu said he washed the body and cleaned the room before sleeping in the same space until morning. He then booked a flight and traveled to Suvarnabhumi International Airport, where he was arrested before he could leave the country.
Pattaya police chief Colonel Anek Sathongyu noted that while the preliminary forensic examination revealed that one of the victim’s lungs was missing, no organ was found among the suspect’s belongings. Authorities are awaiting detailed forensic results to clarify whether organ removal played a role in the crime.
Fu, who works as a welder in China, mentioned this was his third visit to Thailand. His earlier trips included both group and solo travel. During questioning, he expressed regret for the incident but maintained that he lost control after being physically attacked.
Officials, including investigators from Pattaya City Police Station, emphasized that the evidence against Fu was substantial and supported the charges of intentional murder
