German man found dead in Korat amid assault case

Police in Nakhon Ratchasima province are examining the circumstances surrounding the death of a German national whose body was discovered in his residence in Don Chompoo sub-district. Authorities have not ruled out suicide, though his neck bore a deep laceration and the room appeared ransacked, raising questions about potential foul play.

The man’s Thai wife, currently residing in Prachin Buri, requested a welfare check after she lost contact with him. A friend of the deceased visited the house but received no response. With assistance from the local village headman and neighbors, they forced entry and discovered the body lying on a bed, dressed in shorts and a vest. Two Rottweiler dogs were found near the body. Official reports noted documents strewn across the room and a five-centimetre wound on the victim’s neck.

The man had been facing legal proceedings for alleged assaults on dental professionals in the province since November 2024. Local police confirmed they had initiated deportation procedures prior to his death. He was also reportedly undergoing treatment for mental health issues.
