Recently, under the direction of Jesada Chitrat, Governor of Surat Thani, and Nantawat Charoenwan, Deputy Governor, authorities carried out the demolition of two buildings in the Bo Phut subdistrict on Koh Samui. The buildings, part of a local construction project, were found to have been erected without the necessary legal permits under the Building Control Act.
The operation, involving multiple agencies, was coordinated by the district’s administrative officials, including the security division of Koh Samui and members of the Volunteer Defense Corps. The demolition was prompted by a request from the Office of the Ombudsman, which had identified the illegal construction and sought enforcement of the law.

The demolition team included officers from the Royal Thai Police, the Royal Forest Department, and local police from the Bo Phut station, as well as officials from the Koh Samui Municipality. Their collective efforts ensured the safe and orderly removal of the unauthorized structures, addressing the legal violations and restoring compliance with building regulations.
