Recently, it was reported that Pol. Lt. Gen. Saksira Phueakam, Commander-in-Chief of the TAT, issued orders for Pol. Lt. Col. Winij Bunchit, SWAT 5, Kg.2, TAT Headquarters, to intensify efforts against crimes involving e-cigarettes. The directive emphasized a crackdown on distributors, particularly near educational institutions, tourist attractions, and key locations, where the sale of electronic cigarettes is prohibited.


In response to these orders, Koh Phangan tourism police conducted a raid, leading to the arrest of Mr. Kyaw Se Se Ow, a 36-year-old Myanmar national, at a shop located in Moo 8, Koh Phangan Subdistrict, Koh Phangan District, Surat Thani Province. The police confiscated a significant number of items during the operation, including various models of disposable e-cigarettes and related accessories. The seized items comprised:
- Twelve disposable e-cigarettes, Lanavape brand, 9,000 Puffs.
- Ten disposable e-cigarettes, Lanavape brand, 7,000 Puffs.
- Nine disposable e-cigarettes, Lanavape brand, 6,000 Puffs.
- Two Lanavape e-cigarette tips.
- Fifty Lana Vino Pod e-cigarette tips.
- Ten Lanavape Lana Vino e-cigarette devices.
- Thirty-six disposable e-cigarettes, Lanavape Trend brand, 6,000 Puffs.
- Three disposable e-cigarettes, Lanavape Lana Ultra brand, 7,000 Puffs.
- Twenty-eight disposable e-cigarettes, Lanavape Lana Pen Plus brand, 9,000 Puffs.
- Twenty-six disposable e-cigarettes, Lanavape Lana Ultra brand.
In total, 186 items were seized, including 124 disposable e-cigarettes, 52 e-cigarette tips, and 10 e-cigarette devices. It was reported that the crackdown on illegal e-cigarette sales is part of a broader effort to maintain public safety and adhere to regulations regarding electronic cigarettes, particularly in areas of high public interest.
