Thailand’s Digital Content Festival Aims to Boost Global Presence

Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin is championing the growth of Thailand’s digital content industry with the launch of the Bangkok International Digital Content Festival 2024 (BIDC 2024), which commenced on July 26 and will run until August 8. This festival aims to elevate Thailand’s status in the global digital content market by encouraging trade and investment opportunities.

BIDC 2024 is set to host over 450 business matching sessions, with the potential to generate upwards of 800 million Baht in revenue. Government Spokesperson Chai Wacharonke noted that the Prime Minister sees the digital content sector as a vital driver of economic growth. This year marks the 11th edition of the festival, organized in collaboration with the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), the Ministry of Commerce, and various public and private sector entities.

The festival seeks to broaden the international market reach of Thai digital content businesses, with a focus on animation, games, character design, and e-learning. Key activities include business matchmaking, networking opportunities, and award ceremonies such as the BIDC AWARDS and RISING STAR AWARDS. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with representatives from leading Thai digital content firms and global companies like Warner Bros, Discovery, and Imagica Lab.

This initiative reflects Thailand’s ambition to establish itself as a leading hub for digital content in Southeast Asia, showcasing its burgeoning potential on the international stage.
